Odyssey Family Chat

The Odyssey Family Executive Center of South Norwalk will be launching the Odyssey Family Chat, a partnership with the Maritime Odyssey Preschool. Our goal is to provide families with:

  1. Strategies to stay engaged with your children at home 
  2. Information on how to manage emotions and general concerns from a licensed clinical counselor and social worker
  3. Support on how to understand the various resources available across the city, state and country that may be confusing to sort through. 

The Hosts:

  • Odyssey Family Executive Center of South Norwalk, Executive Director, Ms. Prema Winn. Ms. Winn has managed various programs for nonprofit organizations and has formed relationships with several resource providers in Norwalk and Fairfield County.
  • Maritime Odyssey Preschool, Manager of Culture and Compliance, Ms. Rosie Navarro. Ms. Navarro is certified in Restorative Practices which aims to create a positive and healthy climate in the community which includes staff, students and families. Ms. Navarro is also a native Spanish speaker and will provide translation during our chats. 
  • Dr. Shirley Carlos is Odyssey Preschool’s board certified, licensed clinical counselor and social worker with a successful work history of over 39 years in the public and private sector servicing adults, children and families.

Topics to be Covered:

  • Locations for food
  • How to ensure you do not lose your housing
  • How to manage bills
  • Evidence based information on how to keep your family safe from COVID-19
  • Resources and referrals on where to find financial support due to COVID-19
  • How to cope with the added stress and uncertainty that this pandemic has caused on adults and children
