The Prenatal Support an Education program provides a holistic model of care for expectant mothers. The program:

EDUCATES women on pregnancy, labor, the postpartum period and newborn care
EMPOWERS women to obtain the best care they can for themselves and their baby
ADVOCATES on their behalf when barriers are placed in their way

Services include:

REFERRALS to reputable Norwalk providers – OBGYNs, Certified Nurse Midwives, Pediatricians
WORKSHOPS focused on nutrition during pregnancy, childbirth education, newborn care
PREGNANCY AND LABOR SUPPORT from on staff trained doula

What is a doula?

A trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.

Countless scientific trials examining doula care demonstrate remarkably improved physical and psychological outcomes for both mother and baby. Positive outcomes include, but are not limited to:

4x less likely to have a low birth weight (LBW) baby
2x less likely to experience a birth complication involving themselves or their baby
Significantly more likely to initiate breastfeeding
